Kissing your sister

Final: Nationals 4, Nationals 4. (Quotable on the whiteboard the other day was something like, "If a tie is like kissing your sister, then a loss is like kissing your grandmother with her teeth out." Can't remember who it was attributed to.)

Apparently no desire to go to extra innings in this intrasquad game. Manager Manny Acta said he was pleased with how everything went. "They looked sharper than usual," he said a few minutes ago. The homers mentioned earlier by Ronnie/Rafael Belliard and Michael Restovich were the only ones on the morning/afternoon. Acta said he told Matt Chico, who gave up Zimmerman's RBI double, not to worry, because Zimmerman "hit everyone last year and is going to hit everyone this year."

Cristian Guzman even got a hit in his first at-bat. "I feel good," he said. He struck out his next time up. His average now is .500, which is 281 points higher than his average from 2005. So there's that.

Another one of these babies tomorrow. But I just spent an hour standing in the clubhouse alongside the Millionaires' Club lunch buffet, which today was sponsored by Chad Cordero. Chinese food. Man, it smelled good. Looks like a quick run to Asian Too is in order.

I've got much work to do this afternoon, but I need to get to a post on outgoing P.A. announcer Jim Clarke. I'll try to do that before the day is out.

Maybe you should start using your great powers as beat writer of The Post to get Ronnie/Rafael Belliard nicknamed "R.B." by the rest of the world

That way you wouldn't have to worry about writing the name of the wrong one, and R.B. might even get to do a commercial for fast food roast beef sandwiches.

I'm going to start using R.B., if that helps.

And thus, for the purposes of the Journal, Belliard has been dubbed R.B.

Or I might just go with Rafael.

Or maybe Landestoy. Now, if we all started calling him Landestoy, that'd be something.

Did you and MarkZ get your headline from the same writer's handbook?

Hey, I thought RB was his older brother's nickname? I'm so confused....

Is Joey Eischen lurking around writing stuff on the whiteboard?

So Viera has life outside of Panera? Chinese food, Carraba's, sushi--what's next?
