More MASN

So here's how the TV arrangement has been explained to me. MASN produces all the broadcasts of Nationals, but a contract signed last year has 30 games on Channel 20 locally. Here's the link to those games:

http://www.wdca.com/whatson/nationals_schedule.shtml

(Thanks to misschatter of the "Just a Nats Fan" blog for pointing out my ignorance and providing the link.)

The deal in the DC market is that those games will be shown only on Channel 20, not on the MASN cable channel. Outside the DC market (Richmond, Baltimore, etc.), the games will appear on the MASN cable channel (or MASN2, if that's where they're slated on a particular night).

Could there be a more confusing system? Basically, the Nats could be on MASN one night, MASN2 another night and Channel 20 on another night. Folks are going to have to be dedicated to keep track.

I'll see if we can print the whole schedule in the paper so you all can clip it out and keep it in your wallets.

OK. I have an actual job, and it involves talking to actual baseball players and writing actual stories. I'm going to go see if I can do some of that.

Wouldn't it have been much easier to just give CSN some games and keep creative/commercial control instead of mucking about with MASN2? Thanks a lot, Peter Angelos and Comcast, for being jerks about this whole thing.

The MASN site does a nice job of showing all games and where they will be shown, MASN, MASN2, 20, or FOX.

How is this different than the TV schedule for both the Wizards and Capitals? They both have games on CSN and CSN 2 (or NewsChannel 8) and a handful of weekend games on Channel 50. Seems about par for the course.
