Nick Johnson update

So first baseman Nick Johnson got into town yesterday, went to dinner with some of the guys last night, came to the park for the first time today and dropped the news that he thinks June would be a good target for his return from his broken right leg.

To review: Johnson broke the leg in a collision with Austin Kearns in September. Doctors originally said he'd be ready by Opening Day. But he healed slowly, and that date was pushed back -- in part because he had two surgeries in the offseason to take away scar tissue and get the leg moving. At that point, they thought he'd be ready maybe May 1. Now, no club officials are making an official guess, but Johnson said he thought June.

Hello, Larry Broadway/Travis Lee/Dmitri Young.

More on this in the paper, obviously.

It's freezing here. Seriously.
