Well, the power -- and therefore the Internet -- is down here at Space Coast Stadium, and it is only through sheer force of will (not to mention telepathci mind tricks) that I am able to file this entry. But I won't explain all that because my battery's about to run out.
On tap today: First session of live batting practice, which could be kind of fun because it's the next step in evaluating the pitchers. Manager Manny Acta was quite clear yesterday that the first cut -- he wouldn't say when it would be -- would be a significant one because he can't keep 70 players in camp for very long. So if I were a pitcher on the bubble (hello, Terrapins), I wouldn't take anything lightly. Each pitch is being scrutinized. (I realize that no one nationally cares about this team right now (and perhaps very few people locally) but there really are some fascinating aspects to these workouts.)
Boz is here, as I mentioned, and his column is a must-read for optimists out there.
Dinner last night: Digiorno's thin-crust, pre-heat oven to 400, 17 blissful minutes, all while watching fabulous Michigan State-Wisconsin game. (Yes, we've already reached that point in spring training when you fall back into old bachelor-like habits. Pathetic.)
OK, battery quite low. Hopefully problems are resolved after I get back from the clubhouse.
