Robinson to Commish Office

So just talked to Jim Bowden about Frank Robinson's new position. (Chris Michalak on the hill for the Nationals, relieving Shawn Hill. Already has allowed a run in the bottom of the third. Two down, runners at the corners.)

Here's part of what Bowden had to say:

"We're very happy that Frank is back with the Commissioner's Office. Frank has a tremendous wealth of knowledge in this game. And for it to continue to be utilized by baseball is extremely important, and we're glad that he's back with the Commissioner's Office. I talked to Frank earlier this week. Told frank that our door continued to be open for him here with the Nationals, and he would always be invited. And he said he'll keep that in mind in the future, but right now we're all very happy for his new role in the Commissiner's Office."

Still no paid offer here, and there will be no Frank Robinson Day at RFK, per Frank's wishes. (Remember that he declined that earlier this spring.)

The starters are starting to come out for the Dodgers. Damian Jackson (old friend?) ran for Nomar. Michalak gets out without further damage on a pop-up by Betemit.

After 3, Nationals 5, Dodgers 3.
