Technical difficulties

My laptop crahsed yesterday. Or so I was told. Sat there at Disney World looking at a complex error message. (A complex stream of profanities was also being released from someone's mouth. Not sure whose, but it was.)

Quotable: "Baseball is dull only to those with dull minds." -- Red Smith

(Of course, Red didn't see yesterday's 14-5 loss to the Braves, but I digress.)

Lowlights yesterday: Computers. (Oh, sorry. A bit distracted. Did I mention that the computer with a fried hard drive yesterday is the very same one that fired up this morning and on which I'm typing now, despite the fact that the good folks at Post IT (thanks, Aimee) are overnighting (is that a verb?) me another laptop that will arrive within the hour? Is it just toying with me?)

Jerome Williams: 1-1/3 innings, 6 runs, 4 earned. Tim Redding: 2/3 of an inning, 3 runs, all earned.

Next up! Colby Lewis will throw against the Braves today. This guy was a prospect in the Rangers' system until he underwent elbow surgery. He's one of those guys who's won 10 games in a major league season before. He went 10-9 with the Rangers in 2003. His ERA that year? That would be 7.30.

Still, he's a contender here, and we'll get our first real look today.

Other news: Brian Schneider's back from the birth of his first child. Handing out cigars all around this morning. Will play today.

Zimmerman, Kearns back in the lineup today. Lopez has the day off.

Logan -- CF
Snelling -- LF
Zimmerman -- 3B
Kearns -- RF
Travis Lee -- 1B (first action in Grapefruit)
Schneider -- C
Wilson -- SS
Womack -- 2B
Pitcher (Lewis) (Braves have declined using the DH, preferring their pitchers to hit. Escobar/Guzman likely will get at-bats in the "B" game down the road.)

My apologies for the cone of silence yesterday. I'm only as good as my computer (which, as it turns out, stinks).

Will get back to you later.

Sorry to hear about the laptop implosion Barry - ever consider switching to a Mac?

Anyway, how likely is it that the Nationals will actually keep a 37-year old light-hitting utility man on their 25-man roster? I mean Tony Womack may be a good clubhouse guy (is he?), but we don't really need any more of those (hello Zimm, Nicky J, Schneids). Can you pass on to Bodes that he doesn't have to sign every available player who has ever played for the Reds at one point in his career? Sure, the Kearns/Lopez/Wagner trade has worked out very well (honestly, what was Krivsky thinking?!) - but Bowden has got to let the Reds go!

speaking of computers, when is WaPost.com going to update the Nats Index page?

Yeah Barry! Switch to a mac! That way you can have it crash and delete stories before you've even written them!
