There goes that winless season
Sorry. Been in the clubhouse out in right field for a while.
Final:
Dodgers 12, Nationals 7 (but don't worry about that pitching staff, right?)
Former Oriole Larry Bigbie went deep twice, once off Chris Schroder and once off Emiliano Fruto. Schroder's grandmother died last night, and he's flying out after the game. He said he wasn't distracted, and he actually threw some very good pitches. The three-run homer by Bigbie came with two outs.
Two errors. Acta not totally happy about that, but he took the well-after-all-it's-the-first-game-and-they-were-physical-not-mental-errors route, and that seems viable on March 2.
Other highlights? Uh, well, missed a lot of the game while reporting. And as GM Jim Bowden said on his way out, "Sloppy, sloppy, sloppy." Kinda sums up the day.
Might try to post once more today after I get a box score. Thank you for your patience.
