Zimm!
I've only been down here for one month (anniversary of arrival is today), but I'm starting to get the feeling that this kid Ryan Zimmerman has a shot at making the team. He's a right-handed hitting third baseman. I'll check out his bio and get more info on him when it becomes available.
Anyway, leading off the bottom of the fifth against Alay Soler, this Zimmerman kid took one pitch for a ball, then sent the next into the stratosphere high above HSCS. A homer to left. To review his performance today: double in the first, RBI double in the third, homer in the fifth. I'll have to watch him defensively over the next couple of weeks to see if he can secure a spot, but I'd give him the edge over Jose Macias right now.
After 5: Nationals 6, Mets 1.
