Sunday lineups
Beautiful day for a ballgame today, which I think makes two of those for the year. On pace for 10 total nice weather days.
New York Mets (14-8):
Reyes -- 6
Wright -- 5
Beltran -- 8
Alou -- 7
Green -- 9
Franco -- 3
Castro -- 2
Easley -- 4
Maine -- 1
Nationals (8-16):
Lopez -- 6
Belliard -- 4
Zimmerman -- 5
Young -- 3
Kearns -- 9
Church -- 8
Flores -- 2
Snellilng -- 7
Bergmann -- 1
Some news: Jerome Williams was placed on the 15-day disabled list with a sprained left ankle suffered first when he hit that long fly ball to left on Saturday night, an injury that worsened when he slid hard into second base. LHP Ray King was activated.
Williams: "I felt like I was finally going to go forward and get out of this funk that I was in, and now this. So you know what? All you can do is get better and get back."
Williams's turn in the rotation was supposed to be on Thursday's off day, which means he really will miss only one start, probably. But then Jason Simontacchi is going to be ready to be activated, too, so there will be some decisions to be made. Interesting.
If you're waffling about getting out here today, don't waffle. Come out. It's really nice.
