Pieces starting to fall
SI.com is reporting that Eric Gagne is going to Boston if the Red Sox can convince him to waive his no-trade clause. That would eliminate, it would seem, any chance of Cordero or Rauch going there.
With the Sox maybe out of the running, then the Mets seem to be the last team standing. I'm at the park. It's awfully quiet around here. The calm before the storm? Or the calm before the calm?
In the absence of any trade news right now, I offer something much more mundane -- The Lineup:
Lopez -- 6
Belliard -- 4
Zimmerman -- 5
Young -- 3
Kearns -- 9
Church -- 7
Schneider -- 2
Logan -- 8
Chico -- 1
There is, after all, some baseball to be played tonight.
