Some pre-chat numbers

Here are the Nationals' offensive numbers for the whole season: .256 average/.325 OBP/.392 slugging, an average of 0.77 HR/G, an average of 4.2 runs/G.

Here are the Nationals' offensive numbers in their last five games against the Mets, four of which have been wins: .321/.421/.573, an average of 1.8 HR/G, an average of 9.6 runs/G.

The Nationals scored 23 runs the past two nights. Prior to now, they hadn't scored more than 21 in consecutive games this season.

Ouch.

And tonight, it's Philip Humber making his first major league start in a game in which the pressure is clearly going to be felt. I'm about to chat, but thought I would share that stuff with you first. Please joine me here.

Forgot to post this earlier in the week. Has anyone seen Toni Sandys's photo gallery from the final game at RFK. I liked it very much.
