Typing in Alex Rodriguez's name just now in the cleanup spot for the Yankees, I was reminded again of how surreal it is to think back to a year ago, when Joe Torre unceremoniously demoted A-Rod to the eight-hole in the ALDS. I think A-Rod was clearly stung and embarrassed by that move, but here he is a year later, coming off arguably the best year of his career, back in the cleanup spot, and full of hugs for Torre after the Yankees clinched a week or so ago.

In many ways, he's THE story of this postseason, don't you think?
