Two more sweeps?
Is that possible? What if both the Red Sox and Indians win today? Then we go four days without baseball. Is that good for the sport? I don't think so.
We have Diamondbacks-Rockies in the NLCS, starting Thursday. I just pulled into Anaheim Stadium, and it's 20 minutes before game time, so I won't pontificate here. But I am interested -- are you interested in that matchup? (I find it intriguing, myself, but I know that's not a widely held belief.)
Huge number of Red Sox fans here today, though they're not going to come close to being able to drown out the Angels' folks. One key development: Angels first baseman Case Kotchman came down with some sort of illness and is unavailable today. He spent some time in a hospital. Kendry Morales is now your first baseman, batting fifth. Another blow for the already depleted Angels.
Boston:
Dustin Pedroia -- 4
Kevin Youkilis -- 3
David Ortiz -- DH
Manny Ramirez -- 7
Mike Lowell -- 5
J.D. Drew -- 9
Jason Varitek -- 2
Coco Crisp -- 8
Julio Lugo -- 6
Los Angeles of Anaheim:
Chone Figgins -- 8
Orlando Cabrera -- 6
Vladimir Guerrero -- 9
Garret Anderson -- 7
Kendry Morales -- 3
Maicer Izturis -- 5 (part of Jose Guillen trade with Washington)
Howie Kendrick -- 4
Juan Rivera -- DH (other part of Jose Guillen trade with Washington)
Mike Napoli -- 2
Enjoy the afternoon game. Sheinin will have the Tribe-Yanks tonight.
