After one, Marlins up 1-0

So poor Tyler Clippard. His second pitch was kinda popped into right field by De Aza (which translates, I believe, to "of Aza") and got into the Space Coast Jet Stream, which turned a fly ball into a solo homer. He then allowed a liner to left, a popup to short (nice play by Guzman going back), a walk and a fielder's choice grounder (good play by Zimmerman).

Nats half against Ricky Nolasco: Guzman flies to right, Milledge pops to center, Zimmerman grounds a single through the hole at short, and Nick Johnson comes through with his first base hit since September 2006 - a grounder up the middle. Austin Kearns then grounded into a fielder's choice to end the inning.

Let's take a look around HSCS and talk a bit about the game experience here. Just now, in the middle of the first, I ran to the men's room. This, it seems, was a great time for the crew here to vaccuum the lobby the suiteholders use. Why not in the middle of the first game of the home exhibition season.

The home plate umpire has already turned around once and yelled to the scorekeepers to change the count on the board.

When Cristian Guzman came up to lead off the bottom of the first, Chad Cordero's biography naturally came up on the board.

Workin' out the kinks. Tremendous. In Viera, even better.
