Nats reassign Balester, Mock, 16 others

So here's the list:

Right-handed pitchers Collin Balester, Rob Bell, Bobby Brownlie, Adam Carr, Brian Sanches, and Dennis Tankersley; lefties Eude Brito and Jason Stanford; shortstop Ian Desmond; outfielder Jason Dubois; catcher Javier Herrera; first baseman Luis "Little Papi" Jimenez; and infielder Ed Rogers to minor-league camp.

The club also optioned outfielders Roger Bernadina (previously reassigned to minor-league camp) and Justin Maxwell to Class AA Harrisburg; right-handers Tyler Clippard and Garrett Mock and first baseman Josh Whitesell to Class AAA Columbus, and lefty Ross Detwiler to Class A Potomac.

The team also released catcher Chad Moeller unconditionally.

There's now 44 guys in major league camp. They need to get through one more split-squad date -- Friday against Cleveland -- and I'd expect the number to go down some more from there.
