Cordero reinstated, Bergmann sent down, WMP back tomorrow
So a shakeup afterward. One move expected, two might not have been. Chad Cordero was reinstated to the roster after the 10-2 loss to the Braves. He can pitch tomorrow. The corresponding move: Jason Bergmann optioned to Class AAA Columbus....

Anyone still watching?
This is ugly. John Lannan: 4 IP, 6 ER. Jason Bergmann: A surprise relief appearance, perhaps to restore confidence. Didn't work. Two innings, four runs. Jeff Francoeur? That would be 3 for 4, 2 HR, 7 RBI. A good week...

Foundation News -- and some baseball
The Washington Nationals Dream Foundation, the charitable arm of your favorite ballclub, had a press conference this morning - amid some intermittent sprinkles - to announce a couple of partnerships with charities, as well as unveil a case full of...

Cordero, Pena updates... and lineups
Greetings... Dave here. Barry is taking a couple of days off, that slacker. (In all seriousness, I think these are his first days off since Feb. 25. Dude is an animal.) News... Rather than activate Chad Cordero tomorrow, the day...

Panic? Or chill?
I know I'm late to this discussion -- and excuse me for skipping over the parts about whether Bud Selig or Omar Minaya or Jim Bowden are responsible for this current six-game losing streak. The part that interests me: There...

Shawn Hill: Columbus on Sunday
Shawn Hill said he felt fine after last night's start at Class A Potomac. "It feels like normal throwing, stiffness - nothing abnormal that I would be worried about," he said. Still, the club wants him to stretch himself out...

Roster issues -- and a chat
Because there seems to be some confusion, and because the Nationals are saddled with all these injuries - guys coming and going, etc. - it might be a good time to go over just who's on the 25-man and 40-man...

RFK Express: Changes when United is home
Mentioned this the other day, but it's worth reinforcing. One thing the Nationals players have said over and over about Nationals Park is that it's great they don't have to share it with anyone, a thinly veiled swipe at DC...

Half-full? Half-empty? What do you see?
I'll ask that briefly after last night's debacle. This has been, to say the least, an uneven start to the season. Wins of 3-2, 11-6 (tied in the ninth) and 1-0 followed by losses of 8-7 (10 innings), 5-4, 5-4,...

Nationals Park: Early miscues
No, I'm not talking about Lastings Milledge's dropped fly ball that led to an unearned run against Tim Redding in the top of the first. Rather, the first inning of the game production was, um, a bit rough. To review:...
