If Lannan can work his way around the top three in this lineup a couple of times, we could be in for a tight game.

I agree, BIM. Zimm's back and Hernandez is at 2b. Bernadina is probably still pumped after his great catch and could have a big day. We should give it a good shot.

Go, Nats!

Has it come to this that FOX does not even bother to put up the names of the Nationals as they come to bat much less mention them.

Posted by: CBinDC | September 27, 2008 4:07 PM | Report abuse

I was thinking the same thing, but they did say that they were having techincal difficulties w/ their on-screen graphics. They did have the info up for Zimmerman. I may have missed it, but I don't think they annouced the Nationals lineup.

@CBin: FOX doesn't mention anyone or anything unless they are Republican.

One of the things I least like hearing from any of our announcers is "and a Towering fly ball of the bat of Zimmerman".

More signs that Acta is losing it.....if he ever had it.....

From Ladson, Acta says about reports in the media that the organization is dysfunctional and that his coaching staff is sub par.

Acta said. "It's very easy for some of you [members of the media] to hide behind guys named sources, think tank, an opposing scout, a National League top executive and an official. I don't believe most of those comments, because any one of you guys can hide behind any of those guys. It's an old trick."

Yup and the media mad up the teams record too and the stats and the Crow stories as well.....oh and Stan is just so happy about having no power over Jimbo who works for him.....yup ALL IS GOOD IN NATIONALS LAND AND THE MEDIA IS MAKING EVERYTHING UP....Manny and Ted Lerner have some traits in common.

Posted by: JayB | September 27, 2008 5:31 PM | Report abuse

No one should dare try to protect their team. Everyone should try to confirm everything every source says, because it's true. Acta hates his staff but lies about it just to make JayB even crazier. And yes, Manny and his coaches were totally responsible for signing Crow. He was in the conference room w/ Jim working the financial calculator with one hand and writing a big love letter to the Lerners with the other.

Almost. Sigh...

We Won...

Posted by: Seattle | September 27, 2008 6:45 PM | Report abuse

If we have the same record as Seattle, why do we get the #1 pick? We swept them earlier this year.

Nevermind, question retracted.

Posted by: 756* | September 27, 2008 6:49 PM | Report abuse

JayB is dysfunctional.

Posted by: reliable source | September 27, 2008 6:59 PM | Report abuse

JayB can't get any crazier.

Posted by: think tank | September 27, 2008 7:00 PM | Report abuse

We can't end up with same record as Seattle since we're playing one less game due to the cancellation of Thursday's contest. There will be 1/2 game difference between us and Seattle by this time tomorrow. If my math is correct, either a Seattle win OR a Washington loss tomorrow will get us the first pick.

Posted by: BSG | September 27, 2008 7:01 PM | Report abuse

Yea, what was that THINK TANK comment about anyway.....oh well just shows what paranoia can grow from constant losing....Nice plan Stan....

Posted by: JayB | September 27, 2008 7:30 PM | Report abuse

Maybe Oakland tanked that game just they won't have to see Strasburg in their division for the next 10-12 years.

All I know is I broke out my Seattle hat Friday AM and started wearing it proudly. The mysteryhat luck overwhelms Natsluck.

Go Mariners! Remember, "Momentum" starts with an M! Do not punch out Ichiro for at least another day. Raul Rules!*

* Ibanez, not Castro. In a sense, Raul Castro rules, too, but not in a baseball sense.

Yeah, sorry, but being the worst would not feel like a victory to me.
