Former Nat to Coach Mexico
Remember Vinny Castilla? The former Nat -- from the fabled 2005 season -- will coach Mexico at the World Baseball Classic in March. From the Associated Press:
He also led the team to the bronze medal at last year's Pan American Games in Rio de Janiero.
Castilla says the team's strength will be pitching. He says he will look at bringing in both Mexican major league players as well as those with double nationality. He plans to first talk to Tampa Bay's Matt Garza.
The preliminary player list is due Jan. 16.

Oh God. Not the WBC again. You mean that injury-fest that screwed up so many players who should have been getting in shape and working with their teammates in spring training? Yeah. Remind me not to pick any players who participate in the WBC for my fantasy team.

I'll only root for Mexico if Rich (El Guapo) Garces is on the team. He won't be. He's Venzuelan.
