Strasburg's a Perfect 10(0)
I received an email Wednesday about company called Real Baseball Intelligence (RBI), which has launched a website that covers the amateur draft. Here's the link. Not surprisingly, Stephen Strasburg is their projected first pick; there are a few videos attached his bio.
Check out the "baseball draft rankings" section. They've got a formula to rank every player in the draft, with 100 being the best score. Strasburg, not surprisingly, is a 100. It'll be interesting to play with this to see who the Nats might take with their second first-round pick.
FYI, one of the founders of RBI is Ben Hyman, a former club player at GW.

Strasburg is a man amongst "young men" kind of like Wieters last year.

Cool site. Love the videos. Is there a reason that Aaron Crow is not ranked? Won't he be taken in the same draft?

Just what the world needs, another website promising unique insights into amatuer scouting and "a new algorithm that is 60% better at ranking amateur prospects than the teams themselves."

I don't envy the Lerners negotiating w/ Boras when he has a client w/ this kind of fuss. The problem for them is that there is a legitimate case to give Strasburg the biggest bonus of all time, for a pitcher.
The worry is Boras will try to get the biggest bonus ever. I don't know what that record is but I'm sorry, no SP is worth an every day hitter. Granted an SP can win a game practically by himself but only 32 times a year. Great hitter can contribute to all 162. Contributing to all is worth more than being able to dominate 32 (and no one can dominate all 32).

You're right Avar. We should probably pass on the greatest pitching prospect of all time. Let's lowball him and get some bust HS SS next season with our #2 pick next year since he's a position player.
