Sunday Morning Reading, cont.

I have a few items to share as well, before Chico posts lineups.

Filip Bondy of the NY Post Daily News has quite a scold for Elijah Dukes and the Nats. Not sure he's wrong.

This is a really nice piece that was put together by Post photog Toni Sandys; it's a look at Opening Day for the Nats and Opening Day for a little league team in Great Falls. I think you'll like it.

Post reviewer Ann Hornaday has written a piece on the filmmakers behind the movie "Sugar," about a Dominican prospect. This is the movie, you'll recall, in which Jose Rijo plays a small part. The movie comes out Friday.

Ryan Church wants to prove the doubters wrong, writes Brian Costa of the Newark Star-Ledger -- and he doesn't mean his former team, the Nats.

Thanks for pointing out Sugar. The article says it's coming out Friday? Does anybody know what theater it's coming to? I would think the Landmark on E Street would get it, but their site doesn't mention it. Sugar's official site also doesn't help.

Thanks for the links, Tracee. That's the Daily News, though, not the Post.

That daily News article was a stinger. But, sometimes the truth hurts. It's time for the team to man up and just face the facts and do something about them. ouch

Ann will have a review of "Sugar" on Friday and I'll make sure to post a link. I'll also ask Ann if she knows where it's showing.

Well, despite the sun having been there for "500, 600 years" (love the big-leaguers' sense of cosmic time scale), anybody can still lose a fly ball in it every once in a while. Dukes is an acceptable corner outfielder with a potent bat. His character, and the team which took him onboard and has now put him in CF by default, are other questions...I missed this game but caught two local TV news highlights -- wait, better make that lowlights -- packages, and was stunned that each of the channels in question was able to fill its allotted space with nothing but Nats' miscues WHILE NOT DUPLICATING ANY BETWEEN THEM!
