Lineups From Nats Park
Nyjer Morgan is out of the lineup today because of a sore left hamstring. Thus, Willie Harris gets the start in center for the second time in three days. Meantime, let's take a quick look at the Padres' lineup, or what passes for it. This year, San Diego is dead last in baseball in hitting (.230), slugging (.364), and runs (357). And today, the Padres are resting Adrian Gonzalez. Their lineup has a .143 hitter, a .188 hitter, a .190 hitter and a .199 hitter. Throw in pitcher Chad Gaudin (.040), and that's FIVE hitters below .200.
San Diego
Cabrera -- 6
Venable -- 8
Headley -- 7
Kouzmanoff -- 5
Blanks -- 9
Salazar -- 3
Rodriguez -- 4
Alfonso -- 2
Gaudin -- 1
Washington
Harris -- 8
Johnson -- 3
Zimmerman -- 5
Dunn -- 7
Willingham -- 9
Bard -- 2
Gonzalez -- 6
Hernandez -- 4
Lannan -- 1

via mlbtraderumors: Jesus Colome signed with the Brewers & will report to their rookie league to gain his arm strength. Then to their AAA team. Another example of how most of the Nats players, not homegrown, are just AAAA players for everybody else.

Gonna be tough for our ace today - with a weakened, tired squad behind him. Let's hope the Padres are terrible, like they were last night.

It won't be that hard their best hitter is out of the lineup.

Of course, this ump has a strike zone like he's trying to catch a flight or something. The ball's 6 inches off the plate for a strike. Must be grumpy from no sleep.

Guess a .179 hitter is all they need off this pathetic bullpen. Let's get Belliard in there for Zimm and there's no chance of scoring another run before Tuesday.
