Zimmerman On Leave For Grandmother's Funeral
Ryan Zimmerman is out of Washington's lineup for the first time all season because of a death in his family. Zimmerman's grandmother, Ilene Lois Zimmerman, 82, passed away Wednesday in Pinehurst, N.C. The memorial service is tomorrow at 2 p.m. Zimmerman left the team today, flying into Raleigh, N.C., and will try to make it back for tomorrow's game. "He's gonna probably make it on time [to Houston] before the game is over [tomorrow]," Manny Acta said, "but he's not going to be able to start the game."
More information about Ilene Zimmerman is available here.

My condolences to Zimmerman, as well. Is this the same grandma who came to a game during his hitting streak?

Yeah, i've been giving him the what for,but i would also like to extend my heartfelt sympathy to Ryan.Nana's are often the buffers as you are growing up they kiss the bump's and bruises make the tears go away and if you are smart enough to listen as you grow older you are all the more wiser.
