How many people are in attendance?

"Zimmerman just gave him his jersey. Now the poor kid is wearing two shirts."
that's hilarious. it's HOT out there.

I wonder how many members of the Lerner family proofread that jersey to make sure it didn't say Natinals?

Thanks for the WP link -- I have been trying to get the live feed on the MASN web site for 15 mins without luck.
Even with the DirecTV remote DVR scheduler, which says it is Auto Racing, this hasn't been very easy. Much appreciated.

I was going to scoot out to the park for this, but couldn't get out of work just in time. Didn't look like a lot of people -- curious how many.
And, looking at the doppler radar, there is a monstrous red dot hitting Arlington and DC just now! Must be part of the quick finish!

The storm lasted about a half hour out here in midwest Fairfax, so the 3:00 start for the Town Meeting may still work.

Yup. Thank god they spelled Strasburg and Nationals correctly. Go Nats! So he is watching the game tonight?

First thunder just hit downtown (i'm very close to the White House). it's not raining, yet, but it's gotten VERY dark.

So what do you suppose SS gave Listach for his number 37?

In my culture, rain is a good sign, hopefully its a good sign for the Natinals.

Looks like another rain out? Might as well be Syracuse with this much rain ...

Hopefully, Rizzo will be allowed to take his time with Strasburg, let him develop at the same pace as say a Detwiler, god forbid he ends up a Colton Willem.

Like others, I wonder about the size of the crowd. MASN never did a wide shot but it didn't appear to be more than a few dozen (other than press and invited VIPs).

Strasburg said the crowd was as big as any he would pitch in front of at San Diego State.

Can someone post the tweets? Twitter blocked here at work. I listened to the first few minutes on 106.7 before they cut away. Sounded pretty lame. Kid sounds programmed.

Very sorry to hear this. Funeral arrangements?

Mike Rizzo has plenty of decisions to make now that the interim tag was removed from his title as Nationals general manager. One will be whether interim manager Jim Riggleman will be back next season.
Rizzo told MLB.com that Riggleman, who has the Nationals' playing respectable baseball, will be among the candidates.
"I certainly like what Jim has done. I'm the one who made him the interim manager. It was my decision," Rizzo said. "He is an old-school baseball guy with a lot of new ideas."

> Kid sounds programmed.
Kid sounds like any 21 year old jock thrust up on stage. Bet even Tony Plush sounded programmed when he was 21.
Kid has a very hot girlfriend though, who probably doesn't care how he sounds.

As one of the resident "stat-crabs" that Boz was referring to in the Nyjer Morgan post, I responded on that thread (a little late). I won't repost it all here.

Both defensively, and offensively, for Washington, Nyjer Morgan may be that missing "Spoke" in the wheel that has been missing for so long.

I come not to bury Blogmom, but to praise her. What? Oh. Never mind.
