Nyjer Morgan feels fine, but he's out until at least Monday

Nationals centerfielder Nyjer Morgan says he could play tonight despite a tight hamstring, but the Nationals trainers feel differently. Morgan will return Monday at the earliest at the behest of trainer Lee Kuntz, Manager Jim Riggleman said.

"Right now, I feel fine," Morgan said. "I know for myself I would be able to go out there and go hard, play 100 percent. I wish I was out there right now."

But the Nationals will be conservative and hold out Morgan until next week. Morgan hurt himself in his final at-bat Sunday, when he felt his hamstring tighten while running to first base on a groundball.

"It's nothing major," Morgan said. "It's not a pull of the hammy, nothing like that. It's a little bit of tightness in there, but everything is fine."

Which is exactly why you're sitting now, and hopefully not for the next six weeks.
