Ross Detwiler is throwing, and the lineups are here

Ross Detwiler has been creeping closer to his return after the hip surgery he underwent at the start of spring training. Today, he played catch on flat ground for the third straight day, throwing as far as 70 feet with trainer Lee Kuntz.

"It's feeling great, better than before surgery already," Detwiler said. "It feels good just being out here walking around. It was killing me just sitting that training room."

Detwiler has come far since having surgery in mid-February. After the surgery, Detwiler had to sleep on his back with his feet tied together so his hip didn't pop out of its socket. Now he's walking and climbing stairs without crutches. "I really want to get out there and shag some balls," Detwiler said.

As for the guys who can:

Thanks for the update. Glad to know he's feeling good. Must have been difficult to sleep what with the foot tying. Yuck. Luckily, he probably doesn't have to get up much in the middle of the night, being young and all. :-)
