An update on Jesus Flores
After visiting with a doctor from Dr. James Andrews's team in Viera, Fla., catcher Jesus Flores was cleared to begin a throwing program tomorrow, the most tangible improvement yet in his rehab from last fall's shoulder surgery.
"That's a good step in the right direction," Nationals General Manager Mike Rizzo said.
Flores had shown "steady improvement" in his range of motion and strength while receiving treatment and doing resistance exercises, Rizzo said. Shortly after Flores starts throwing, he will likely be able to begin swinging a bat.
The throwing program will likely take four to six weeks. When he completes that stage, Flores will play an extended minor league rehab assignment. Since Flores is on the 60-day disabled list, he is not eligible to play in the majors until June 3.

I'm not giving up yet. I am happy to file Flores away in the back of my mind, and be content if he reappears.

So he can return just in time to take his place in the all-Jesus battery.

I have lost all faith that I will see him as the starting catcher. This reminds me of Shawn Hill. All the talent we need but can never get passed the injuries. I say we give Pudge another year next year and bring Norris up to learn behind Pudge.
