Today's lineup

The Nationals are set to play the Red Sox in City of Palms Park in Fort Myers, where, incidentally, some Nationals officials have been poking around the ballpark that the Red Sox will desert following the 2011 spring. President Stan Kasten and owner Mark Lerner are both in the house.

Nyjer Morgan will start as the designated hitter so he can keep wear and tear off his legs and allow Willy Taveras some time in center. Also, Cristian Guzman is back in rightfield at second base. The full lineup:

Nationals
1. Nyjer Morgan, DH
2. Willie Harris, RF
3. Cristian Guzman, 2B
4. Mike Morse, 1B
5. Roger Bernadian, LF
6. Alberto Gonzalez, 3B
7. Wil Nieves, C
8. Eric Bruntlett, SS
9. Willy Taveras, CF
-- Scott Olsen, SP

Adam, you mean Guz is at 2B?

I can't believe the second-to-last exhibition game isn't on radio or TV anywhere.

wead or wear and tear off of his legs? For a minute there I thought Nyjer was playing in the everglades.

Adam,

You're our only link to the game today! Stay away from those Boston media folks and give us plenty of updates.

The Nats tried their best and came up with the weakest hitting lineup imaginable! Why not bat Olsen cleanup?

Adam,

Are you typing this with your toes? Plush isn't listed in the lineup, even though you say he's the DH to avoid "wead" on his legs, and the left fielder rhymes with Molson Canadian.

Just a guess - willingham, dunn, zimmerman, and kennedy did not make the trip and are making their way separately to DC.

awww, please don't move to Ft Myers! The Ocean-side of the state is so much nicer than the Gulf side.

And who is this Roger Bernadian fellow, anyway?

Posted by: TheNationalsEnquirer | April 2, 2010 1:13 PM | Report abuse

Who!? Wili Nieves?

I vote "yes" for Fort Myers, as I enjoyed birding in that area on a (pre-Nats) trip to Fla. years ago. Just don't move too many people to that side or the state might, you know, capsize or something.

Maybe Nyjer wikes to stay in the dugout and wead between at-bats. I don't think he should tear off his legs, though, because he'll need them to chase down balls when he's not DH-ing. What? Oh. Never mind.

Fort Myers... good grief, yes. Not too many places in Florida could be much deader than Viera. (I thought Svrluga was laying it on thick a few years ago about Viera being a cow town. He wasn't. If anything, he was understating it.)

Separately: +1, natsfan1a1. See you tomorrow.
