FWIW, Willingham: .200 BA against Jimenez (2-10).

Willie Harris, 5-8 with two walks against Jimenez.

Bernadina's never faced him, but he's hitting .294 against righties this year.

I just have to totally disagree with those advocating Guz give up switch hitting. When he's hot, he hits from both sides, and he has as much power from both sides. If he were a punch-and-judy guy as a lefty, you might have a case.

KRAP!!!!! Got to work tommorow so i'll miss the 1st game and i hate the day-night doubleheaders where the greed of the owners manifest itself in charging you for each game, and they wonder why they can't draw new fans to the game,by the way who's starting on sunday?.

Darn it! Only the weather can slow us down! Lets Go Nationals!

I am honored to be characterized as unhappy and unintelligent by Barno. I certainly had not thought of myself as unhappy (particularly with regard to the Nats' season thus far, about which I foolishly believed I was thrilled).

Have been forced into a "lurk-only" mode this week, due to ISP problems; Finally get service restored and there's no game tonight? That's a bummer, but so much for my problems.

Here's a little stat teaser, for anyone who cares: Through 5/12, the Nationals pitching breaks down as follows (through 5/12):
The starting staff have thrown 60.5% of total innings pitched, and have a cumulative 4.37ERA & 1.552WHIP, with 15 quality starts over 35 games.
The bullpen has 110 appearances in 35 games, with a 4.04ERA & a 1.4568WHIP.
Not great numbers, but better than the '08-09 versions, IMO.

With the current bullpen, I'd like to see Riggleman start stretching Burnett out of a pure LS role, to see if he can be more productive; Slaten seems to be able to handle both RH & LH-hitters, and could stick around for a while. Walker looks to be rounding into form for a MR-LR role, having had good results over the last 3 weeks. Batista & Bruney are currently holding the LR & 'mop-up' roles, and need to stay there for now. Clippard is all over the place, but may be best suited for a MR-SU role, appearing no more than four times every 10 games.

FYI, the first game will not be televised due to MLB blackout restrictions.

Why do they call it a doubleheader when there are separate admissions. Let's go back to the old days when they have DH's on Memorial day, 4th of July, and Labor day. (Greedy owners??)

So, if we get the W in both games and Philly lose, we're tied for 1st place. Give me Livian, he has come gamed against so many so called somebody pitchers that in some minds are better than him, to our pitcher this guy is just another one. I say we BUST this opposition pitcher BEHIND. If every national player know it like me, the pressure is on our opposition on the mound.
