Q&A: First Things First with Dan Steinberg, 9:30 a.m.

Join Dan Steinberg -- a fearless fill-in for Tracee Hamilton while she is on vacation -- at 9:30 this morning for the latest edition of the daily chat. As interleague play begins, Dan is wondering: Do you still care about the Orioles? Do you still root for them as your pre-Nats, childhood team? Still hate them for their fight against bringing a team back to D.C.? See what's on his mind, and submit your questions.

Dan is wondering: Do you still care about the Orioles? NO.

Do you still root for them as your pre-Nats, childhood team? HELL NO. My pre-Nats, childhood team was the Senators.

Still hate them for their fight against bringing a team back to D.C.? Hmmm. Is the Pope Catholic? Does a bear sh*t in the woods? Is a clam's *ss watertight? I may forget 9/11 one of these days, but Peter "there are no real baseball fans in Washington" Angelos will forever be the anti-Christ, doomed one day to have the seat in hell right next to Bob Short. Never forget.

As I didn't grow up here, the O's never were my childhood team, and consequently I didn't care about them. After I moved here, I didn't follow them because I couldn't pick up the broadcast signal, it takes significantly longer for me to get to games there than in DC, and (see initial comments above). Re. their fight against bringing a team to DC (and the subsequent TV deal), yeah, that doesn't help matters any as regards my feelings about them.

To their credit, though, I always used to admire their old TV sponsor - National Beer. and the national beer jingle.
