Stephen Strasburg's debut and a good cause
The debut of Stephen Strasburg will help at least one good cause. To benefit the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Mid-Atlantic, Nikco Sports will offer 2,010 framed photos of Strasburg's first pitch with a unique touch. Someone is going to gather dirt from the pitcher's mound and insert it into the frame's double matting. There will also be a replica card from the day he was drafted placed to the side of the photo.
Again, the proceeds from the sale of these pictures will benefit the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Mid-Atlantic. They can be ordered by calling 1-800-345-2868 or at the Nikco Sports Web site.
And, if you haven't consumed enough Strasburg hype this morning:
Drafting Bryce Harper and starting Stephen Strasburg makes the Nationals finally relevant, Jeff Passan writes.
Meanwhile, Tyler Kepner compares the happening Nationals to the hapless Orioles.

The best part of the Kepner piece may be the correction at the end.
