Jordan Zimmermann fine, set to pitch Wednesday

Jordan Zimmermann checked out fine today after the Nationals scratched him from his rehab start in Class A Potomac with a stiff neck. Zimmermann is scheduled to pitch tomorrow in Potomac, continuing a recovery from Tommy John surgery that is ahead of schedule.

Zimmermann was actually cleared to make his start yesterday as scheduled, but the Nationals chose caution. The Nationals plan for Zimmermann to throw about 85 pitches. In three rehab starts with Potomac, Zimmermann has allowed no earned on nine hits and no walks while striking out nine.

Jesus Flores is someplace right now asking where the abundance of caution was last year for him.
