Good news for Nyjer Morgan

After Nyjer Morgan visited a hip specialist in Nashville on Sunday, the Nationals are convinced he will miss the minimum 15 days on the disabled list. Morgan may or may not participate in a minor league rehab, but either way he will likely return Aug. 19.

"There's an issue there," Manager Jim Riggleman said. "But it's more going to be more going to be pain tolerance than anything else. He could play. If he's feeling something, it's an indication that he's going to have to shut it down. I know Nyjer is irritated he's on the disabled list. He felt like he could have played through this."

I respect Nyjer for playing hard, but he needs to improve his batting, base running, and fielding before I'll look forward to him returning.
