Today's lineups

Facing Dodgers right-hander Hiroki Kuroda, the Nationals will return to their regular lineup without Nyjer Morgan. It seems like Jim Riggleman is alternating Ian Desmond and Adam Kennedy between the second and eighth spots in the order, and today Desmond is second.

1. Roger Bernadina, CF
2. Ian Desmond, SS
3. Ryan Zimmerman, 3B
4. Adam Dunn, 1B
5. Josh Willingham, LF
6. Michael Morse, RF
7. Ivan Rodriguez, C
8. Adam Kennedy, 2B
9. Livan Hernandez, SP

1. Scott Podsednik, LF
2. Ryan Theriot, 2B
3. Andre Ethier, RF
4. James Loney, 1B
5. Matt Kemp, CF
6. Casey Blake, 3B
7. Jamey Carroll, SS
8. Brad Ausmus, C
9. Hiroki Kuroda, SP

I like this lineup, and agree giving Desmond the edge on the Desmond@2/Kennedy@8 issue, based on their last ten:

Desmond: 31 6 12 1 3 1 3 1 .387

Kennedy: 32 6 9 1 4 3 3 1 .281

I am curious if the Dods will employ the intentional to Dunn with frequency, and hope that Willingham makes them pay mightily if they do...

Guess this means we kept Dunn, huh?

"Guess this means we kept Dunn, huh?"

Rizzo pretty much puts everyone through waivers ... its how they traded Belliard to the Dodgers last year. Its not just Dunn ... but he is kind of the Haynesworth of major league baseball in that every tid-bit associated with him is over dramatized and tweeted to all and sundry.

Hopefully, Harris, Maxwell, Nieves ... but perhaps Kennedy? Rizzo now has 2 shortstops in AAA Syracuse after adding Bixler. He looks to provide some decent competition for Espinosa. As opposed to utility guy Pete Orr. If they decide to trade Kennedy they could replace him with Orr and move Gonzo into the starting lineup. That must be considered a real possibility given Kennedy's recent dramatic improvements in the field and at the plate.

Morgan is on the DL. He's not going anywhere.

@Periculum-- Is the Belliard you mentioned the Rafael Belliard Adam wrote about in last night's gamer?

Nice catch Ramgut, Rafael actually looked right to me, until my brain did a double-take.
Now I need an advil.

We traded Ronnie Belliard to LA. Don't know where Raphael came from.

I'm pulling for Livo tonite(as always)and hoping he gets ton's of run support and great defense behind him a sweep would be nice but let me not get ahead of myself.
