Bryce Harper will play against the New York Yankees
After Bryce Harper participated in his first spring training workout, he outlined some his goals for the spring, which included watching Albert Pujols take batting practice, something he got to today. He also mentioned playing against the Yankees.
"I love the Yankees," he explained. "I've always loved the Yankees since I was younger. They have all the studs. They have a lot studs out there. You just want to see how everybody goes about their business."
On Saturday, Harper will be able to check that off his list, too. Harper, Manager Jim Riggleman said, will travel with the Nationals for their game in Tampa against the Yankees, the team Harper grew up rooting for. With CC Sabathia scheduled to start, Riggleman said, Harper will come off the bench.
Riggleman said Harper or may or may not start a game before he heads to minor league camp. He also said he's surprised that Harper already has six plate appearances, two in each game. That wasn't the plan; it just happened that way.
Oh, for the record, Harper did say he'll stop loving the Yankees once he steps on the field against them.
"Yeah, I want to beat the Yankees," Harper said back at the start of spring. "That's for sure. If I could be the Yankee Breaker, be the guy who breaks that streak of them winning, that would be great."

Nah, Harper won't want to join the Yanks. By then their dynasty will have fallen.
Harper though will sign with another AL East team. He'll sign with the O's, after seeing the success the team has, not to mention after seeing how much fun Strasburg has in an Orioles uniform after he signs with them when he hits free agency.
