Bengals Release DT Askew

The Cincinnati Bengals released defensive tackle Matthias Askew today.

He was one of five Bengals players to be arrested since December. Police reportedly used a stun gun to subdue him last month after he was approached about a parking ticket. He was charged with obstruction and resisting arrest.

Askew was a fourth-round draft pick by the Bengals in 2004 but was plagued by knee and foot injuries in his first two NFL seasons.
