C. Brown, Titans At Odds Over Contract
There has been talk in recent days that tailback Chris Brown perhaps could walk out of the Tennessee Titans' training camp to try to spur the team to negotiate a contract extension with him. He's entering the final season of his existing contract, and one of his representatives visited the Titans' camp this week.
The Titans, though, don't seem to feel pressured by the possibility of Brown leaving the club. That would subject him to fines of as much as $14,000 per day, since he's under contract, and the team has fellow tailbacks Travis Henry and LenDale White on its roster. The New York Jets and other clubs could be interested if the Titans opt to trade Brown, but they seem unwilling at this point to accommodate his request to be sent elsewhere.
