Hali Gets U.S. Citizenship
Kansas City Chiefs rookie defensive end Tamba Hali, a first-round draft choice in April from Penn State, became a U.S. citizen this week.
Hali missed Monday's practices to travel to New Jersey, where he took--and passed--his citizenship test.
Hali fled his civil-war-torn home country, Liberia, when he was 10 to come to the United States and live with his father in New Jersey. He left behind his mother, but he said at the NFL scouting combine in February that he was hoping to become a citizen so that he could get her to this country.
