Jets Trade For Browns' Suggs
The tailback-needy New York Jets obtained Lee Suggs in a trade today with the Cleveland Browns.
The Jets sent safety Derrick Strait to the Browns for Suggs, a fourth-year pro out of Virginia Tech. Suggs rushed for 1,048 yards in three seasons in Cleveland, 744 of them in his best season in 2004.
With Curtis Martin's football future uncertain because of knee surgery, the Jets desperately needed another runner to go with Derrick Blaylock and Cedric Houston.
