R. Moss Has Upsetting Evening
NFL coaches can't win when it comes to the preseason.
Tailback Clinton Portis questioned why he was playing a preseason game when he hurt his shoulder during the Washington Redskins' exhibition opener.
Wide receiver Randy Moss, by contrast, threw a sideline tantrum when he was pulled from the Oakland Raiders' preseason game Monday night at Minnesota. Moss angrily threw his helmet on the sideline.
Moss had wanted to have a standout performance against the Vikings, the team that traded him prior to last season, and afterward questioned the decision to remove him in the second quarter.
"I was just more ticked because I've never in my career been taken out of a game, [even] preseason, during a drive," Moss said, according to the Associated Press. "It's funny to me. I don't call the shots. I guess I just go back to the drawing board."
Moss had one catch in the game and was visibly upset when quarterback Aaron Brooks missed him when he was open in the end zone on one play.
