Saints LB Simmons Retires

New Orleans Saints linebacker Anthony Simmons retired.

Simmons signed with the Saints in March after sitting out last season because of a wrist injury. But he didn't report to the Saints' training camp because of a personal matter, and the team has placed him on its reserve-retired list.

Tommy Polley, who spent last season with the Baltimore Ravens, has replaced Simmons as the Saints' starting weak-side linebacker.
