T. Jones Looks Like Front-Runner in Bears' RB Derby

Thomas Jones seems to have pulled ahead of Cedric Benson is the competition for the Chicago Bears' starting tailback job.

Jones is back from a hamstring injury and is scheduled to start Friday's exhibition game against the Arizona Cardinals, while Benson remains sidelined by an ailing shoulder. Benson also hurt his chances to win the job when he was disciplined by Coach Lovie Smith for leaving the team's sideline during a preseason game last week and missing a postgame meeting.

The Bears need an offensive boost. Their starting offense, led by quarterback Rex Grossman, hasn't scored a touchdown this exhibition season.
