Vikings Lose Safety for Season
The Minnesota Vikings lost safety Tank Williams for the entire season because of a fractured kneecap that he suffered during a practice Saturday. He will undergo season-ending surgery.
Williams, formerly of the Tennessee Titans, was signed as a free agent in March and was slated to replace the departed Corey Chavous in the starting lineup. The Vikings just bolstered their depth at the position by signing veteran safety Dwight Smith following his release by the New Orleans Saints.
