Chargers, Chiefs In Running For Volek

The San Diego Chargers and Kansas City Chiefs apparently are the front-runners to trade for Tennessee Titans quarterback Billy Volek.

The Chargers have a rookie, Charlie Whitehurst, backing up third-year pro Philip Rivers, who's in his first season as a starter. The Chiefs need quarterback help after starter Trent Green suffered a concussion during last weekend's loss to the Cincinnati Bengals.

The Titans play in San Diego this weekend. If Volek is going to be traded to the Chargers, the deal perhaps could be completed soon after the game.

Volek is a quality NFL starter, and would be a boon for both AFC West team's playoff hopes.

Where can I find Mark's picks for this week? Is he hiding them?

No, I'm not hiding them. That only happens after a sub-.500 week (just kidding). Just go to the archives at the bottom of the page and either go by category ("Picks") or click on the September 2006 entries and find Week 2 Picks.
