Chiefs Accepting Roaf's Retirement Decision As Final

The Kansas City Chiefs finally are accepting the fact that left tackle Willie Roaf isn't coming back to play this season.

Chiefs President Carl Peterson had a long talk with Roaf this week and plans to place him on the reserve-retired list. When Roaf abruptly retired before training camp, the team put him on the reserve-did not report list, leaving open the possibility that he would change his mind and play.

Roaf was in the Kansas City area in recent days and held a news conference at a downtown law office Thursday in which he read a written statement reaffirming his retirement, then exited without answering reporters' questions.
