Dolphins Keeping Rogers In Mind

The Miami Dolphins didn't sign Charles Rogers after the wide receiver worked out for them Tuesday--at least not immediately.

"When we bring guys in [for workouts], we're evaluating not only for right now but also for the future and how we can help make our team better if on some occasion in the future we need to improve ourselves relative to any circumstance that can come up," Dolphins Coach Nick Saban said during his news briefing today.

Saban, when he was coaching in college, recruited Rogers to Michigan State but left the school for LSU before Rogers played for the Spartans.

Rogers, the second overall selection in the 2003 NFL draft, was released by the Detroit Lions before the season. He also worked out for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers last week without being signed.
