Goodell Not Ruling Out Expansion as Means to Get a Team to L.A.

Most of the NFL's 32 team owners seem to favor moving an existing franchise rather than expanding when the league is ready to put a club in Los Angeles.

New commissioner Roger Goodell said Wednesday in East Rutherford, N.J., that he does not favor further expansion as a general rule, but it's possible that an exception could be made to fill the Los Angeles market.

"That may be the one exception that you have to look at if there was a creative solution that allowed us to get back into Los Angeles in a successful fashion," Goodell said. "That may be one area where we would have to revisit that issue."
