Goodell, Upshaw To Meet Thursday

NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell and Players Association chief Gene Upshaw are scheduled to meet on Thursday to discuss a variety of topics, including possible changes to the league's steroid-testing program.

Goodell has said it's possible that the program will be strengthened, perhaps by testing players more frequently or adding substances to the banned list. Upshaw said last week he's keeping an open mind about modifying the drug policies and will approve any proposed changes if the league's medical advisers recommend them.

The two also are likely to discuss several issues related to the economics of the sport and the league's push to put a franchise in the Los Angeles market.
