Patriots, Raiders Look at Maddox
The New England Patriots and Oakland Raiders auditioned former Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Tommy Maddox in recent days.
Maddox worked out for the Patriots on Tuesday and for the Raiders on Wednesday, but wasn't immediately signed by either team.
The Raiders' quarterback situation is particularly dire, with Aaron Brooks sidelined by a strained pectoral muscle and Andrew Walter taking over as the starter, backed up by Marques Tuiasosopo.
