Linebacker-Needy Giants Sign Claiborne

The New York Giants signed linebacker Chris Claiborne today.

Claiborne played for the St. Louis Rams last season after previous stints with the Detroit Lions and Minnesota Vikings.

Brandon Short injured his quadriceps muscle during Sunday's triumph over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, six days after fellow Giants linebacker LaVar Arrington had his season ended by a torn Achilles' tendon.
