Eagles QB Coach Shurmur Linked to Michigan State Job

There is speculation that Philadelphia Eagles quarterbacks coach Pat Shurmur could be a candidate to replace John L. Smith as the head coach at Michigan State.

Shurmur is a former center at the school.

Former San Francisco 49ers and Detroit Lions coach Steve Mariucci also has been mentioned as a possible candidate. But Mariucci, who is working at the NFL Network, is said by friends to be reluctant to return to coaching.
